11/hr DOQ Provide professional assistance to the public as the primary point of contact with the City.
This position often represents the initial contact between the City and the customer; therefore professionalism must be exhibited at all times.
Perform a variety of clerical, record-keeping and customer service duties related to services provided by the City.
Work independently under general supervision of Customer Service Supervisor.
Essential Duties:
Greets and assists customers in a pleasant and professional manner with various inquiries regarding City utility services in addition to providing information for general inquiries.
Performs customer service functions, working independently and using initiative and judgment in dealing with workflow and uncertain situations.
Receives and processes customers payments for monies owed the City for utility and other services, making change for customers paying in cash.
Responsible for counting and balancing all cash and payments received in custody at all times.
Maintains records, posts data and make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy.
Reviews, maintains and updates current information in customer files as needed.
Enters data for new and terminated customers, answers inquiries by telephone, in person and by mail.
Prepares bank deposits on occasion.
Interprets and applies City policies and procedures in daily operations.
Prepares and completes work orders for various City services.
At customer request, reviews all types of customer and utility data using various computer systems as needed to resolve customer bill complaints and inquiries.
Performs majority of daily tasks using various computer software applications.
Operates general office equipment and assists with customer service functions.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Works regular City business hours.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum two (2) years customer service experience.
Must be bondable.
A comparable amount of education and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Valid Florida Driver License.
Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
