The Radiology Technician works closely with the providers and staff.
The RT provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality efficient care.
The RT should exhibit initiative and be compatible and supportive to maintain team cohesiveness.
The RT requires direct patient communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The individual must have excellent customer service experience with patients, employees, and the public.
They must be organized and be able to manage demanding workloads with accuracy.
Work
Experience:
Must be a licensed Radiology Technician with 1-year minimum experience.
Responsibilities:
Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities.
Requires the ability to move quickly in response to patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, and the ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs occasionally.
X-ray technician must make sure all x-ray equipment is set up, working properly, clean, properly positioning the patient, running the x-ray exam, and answering any x-ray related questions or concerns the patient may have.
The X-ray Tech will also perform general patient care duties, such as:
triaging patients, taking vital signs, preparing rooms for patients, charting in the EMR, etc as needed X-ray technician must follow regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation from the equipment and environment.
Utilize badges to measure the radiation in a given work area, and detailed records are kept on the accumulation of radiation exposure throughout an x-ray technician's working life Prepares and reviews patient charts prior to patient's appointment.
Organizes work area, including general cleaning, upkeeping, and re-stocking of supplies.
Performs administrative tasks as necessary that assist in the delivery of health care and patient care management.
Must be highly proficient in Musculoskeletal imaging.
Inputting documentation into the computer system (TigerView experience preferred).
Education:
Must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Florida Job Type:
